English Language

Hello and welcome to the English language course at Dialecta!

"All the world's a stage, And all the men and women merely players."

- As You Like It, William Shakespeare

The English language belongs to the Germanic branch (specifically West Germanic) of the Indo-European language family. Today, English is one of the most widely spoken languages in the world. It is used as a first or second language in many parts of the world and is crucial for international communication, trade, science, technology, and culture. Approximately 380 million people speak it as their first language, and an estimated 1.5 to 2 billion people worldwide speak English as a second language. English is the official language in 55 countries and territories, including the United Kingdom, the United States, Canada, Australia, and many others.

Did you know?

Have you ever wondered why the letters on an English keyboard are not arranged alphabetically? The reason dates back to the first typewriters, where the most frequently used letters were intentionally separated to prevent jamming.

Our team of experienced instructors, with over 10 years of experience working with children and adults, will guide you through your learning journey at Dialecta. In addition to their extensive teaching experience and formal education, they hold numerous awards and internationally recognised teaching certificates. Having lived and worked in English-speaking countries, they have gained their knowledge of the language and accent through direct interaction with native speakers. The English language course is tailored for all ages from 6 years and up and is available for all levels according to CEFR standards. For more about the CEFR level distribution, click here. We use textbooks from renowned publishers such as Oxford and National Geographic. For youth, we offer a special language learning programme called ‘Perspectives’. Read more about it here.

Our course is designed for gradual and systematic learning of the English language, starting with greetings and introductions, progressing to discussing past and future events, and eventually reading and understanding artistic and scientific texts. At the beginner level, you will master four verb forms (present simple/continuous tense, past simple/continuous tense, and present perfect). As you advance to higher levels, these forms are revisited, practised, and systemized. Additionally, new verb forms are introduced, such as past perfect tense, future simple, and future continuous tense. At each course in Dialecta, we adhere to the principle of individualised instruction, focusing on each participant's unique needs and ensuring the group as a whole functions, progresses, and works effectively to bring out the full potential of every student!
