Italian Language

Ciao and benvenuti to the Italian language course at Dialecta!

"Il tempo è sufficientemente lungo per chi lo vuole utilizzaro."

- Leonardo di ser Piero da Vinci

The Italian language originates from Latin, which evolved during the Roman Empire on the Apennine Peninsula, through various Latin dialects. During the Middle Ages, Italian gained prominence through literary masterpieces like Dante's Divine Comedy and Petrarch's poetry. Today, Italian is the official language of Italy, San Marino, Vatican City, and parts of Switzerland, with a rich cultural heritage and a global presence. As a native language, Italian is spoken by around 59 million people. Additionally, Italian is popular as a second language worldwide, particularly in Europe and America, due to the cultural influence and significance of Italian culture, art, and history.
